"I had an incredible experience with Olsen family law.
At the University of Michigan, my studies in Psychology provided me deep insights into human behavior and relationships, laying the foundation for my journey into family law. Later, I earned both a Juris Doctor and a Master’s of Jurisprudence in Legal Doctrine and Analysis from Michigan State University College of Law.
In law school, I discovered my true passion: Child and Family Advocacy. I was honored with the Jurisprudence Award in Integrative Law and Social Work. From that point on, I've dedicated myself to assisting families during some of life’s most turbulent phases.
I'm proud to be a part of the California Lawyers Association, the Santa Clara County Bar Association, and the San Mateo County Bar Association. My active involvement in the Minor's Counsel Subcommittee of Santa Clara County allows me to work closely with other attorneys in supporting families embroiled in complex and emotionally fraught cases. I understand the challenges inherent to family law and am committed to providing compassionate and effective legal representation to help during this difficult time. Listening actively to my clients' concerns, I tailor my approach to match their unique needs and circumstances.
Premarital and Postnuptial Agreements are among my specialties. I'm passionate about guiding clients through the legal and financial dimensions of their relationships, pre or post matrimony. Having witnessed the full spectrum of divorce outcomes, I recognize the paramount importance of preparation. Whether you seek assistance in drafting an agreement or are curious about its legal ramifications, I'm here to offer the guidance and support you need. I approach each case with genuine empathy and a resolute commitment to securing the best possible outcome.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our two kids, and our dogs. Whether I'm engaging in a Peloton class, hiking, or traveling with my family, these moments provide the balance that fuels my professional dedication.

Julie joined Olsen Family Law in 2024, bringing with her a strong background in legal support and a passion for helping people navigate challenging times. A graduate of UC Santa Cruz with honors in Politics and a minor in Legal Studies, Julie previously clerked for the Santa Cruz Superior Court, gaining valuable insight into the legal system. At Olsen Family Law, she takes pride in making complex legal issues feel manageable, providing compassionate, clear support every step of the way. Outside the office, Julie enjoys cooking, spending time with loved ones, and exploring new corners of California.
Senior Legal Assistant
Alexa LeBlanc
Alexa is a Senior Legal Assistant at Olsen Family Law, where she helps guide clients through life’s challenging moments. Her passion for family law began during her undergraduate studies and has only grown stronger as she’s supported families in divorce, custody, domestic violence, guardianships, adoptions, and marital agreements. Currently pursuing her JD at Santa Clara University School of Law (expected graduation December 2025), Alexa has interned with local judges and served extensively in mediation and family law clinics. Alexa’s dedication has earned her multiple academic awards and honors. She is committed to making complex legal issues understandable and placing clients’ well-being at the center of every case. Outside of work and school, Alexa loves exploring local farmers markets and spending time with friends and family.

Courtney Bowen
Courtney began her career in family law in 2013, bringing over a decade of experience to her role as Senior Paralegal at Olsen Family Law. After briefly exploring intellectual property law, she returned to family law in 2024, reaffirming her passion for supporting clients during life’s challenging transitions. Courtney particularly enjoys the variety each case brings, as well as the detailed research and writing necessary to move cases forward effectively. Outside the office, Courtney enjoys cooking, reading, and playing video games.
Senior Associate Attorney
Shalini Ketagoda
Shalini joined Olsen Family Law as a Senior Associate Attorney in May 2024, bringing compassion, experience, and a steady hand to each case she handles. Practicing law since 2017 with a dedicated focus on family law, Shalini values supporting clients through deeply personal and challenging times. She holds a JD from UC Hastings College of Law and earned her bachelor’s degree from UC Irvine. Outside the office, Shalini enjoys traveling internationally, long walks, and spending quality time with her husband, daughter, and their two dogs.
Managing Partner
Trevor Olsen
Trevor is the Managing Partner at Olsen Family Law, focusing on the firm’s overall operations, strategic growth, and ensuring the team has everything they need to provide exceptional client care. Licensed as an attorney in Utah, Trevor spent the early part of his legal career in the corporate tax world, developing a deep understanding of business strategy and financial management. He earned his accounting degree from Utah State University and his law degree from Michigan State University. Trevor genuinely enjoys managing the details behind the scenes, allowing the rest of the team to fully dedicate themselves to client support. Outside of work, Trevor loves spending time with his family and staying active through golf and tennis.
